A major compliance milestone is approaching for surveying firms in NSW, and time to prepare is running short.
From 1 July 2026, plan administration sheets and Section 88B Instruments must be prepared as Digital Forms using the Online Form Builder in LRS Connect. Deposited plans will also require a digital plan file (LandXML) to be lodged alongside the PDF plan.
This follows SSIR 2024 coming into full effect on 1 January 2026, meaning all plans signed from that date must already comply with the updated regulation.
The advice from practitioners is consistent: firms that haven’t yet engaged with the new system risk being caught off guard. The recommendation is to explore LRS Connect now and take advantage of the training sessions available before the mandate kicks in.
The shift to fully digital lodgement is the direction the entire industry is heading, firms that adapt early will be better positioned for the further requirements coming in 2027.
Takeaway: The July deadline is close and the steps required are clear. Getting familiar with LRS Connect, completing your Digital Forms training, and updating your lodgement processes now will save significant stress down the track. Don’t wait until the mandate is live to start preparing.
